Very impressed by this #LTN in Camberwell, sponsored by local hospital charity @GSTTCharity, specifically targeted at making it safer for local kids to walk and cycle to school 👏👏 @BtrSts4Swk @southwarkcycle https://southwarkcyclists.org.uk/3-new-low-traffic-neighbourhoods/
It’s a cold November morning with some light rain yet we’re still seeing a huge uplift in #ActiveTravel in #Dulwich, especially from families doing the school run. #ChangeIsHere
Cutting the cycling budget will lose us far more than we save in the long run. Time and time again active travel investment pays back big - in health, in de-congestion, in tourism and economic benefits. Roads, on the other hand, just cost us. https://twitter.com/WeAreCyclingUK/status/1331596193256902656
Today’s #SpendingReview is completely at odds with the Government's new 10 step decarbonisation plan. There's an effective cut of £43m for cycling and walking in 2021 / 22 from this year.
Cycling UK's full reaction to follow later this afternoon.
