Southwark Council are proposing changes to Sydenham Hill by reducing speeds, adding a protected cycle lane, and improving pedestrian crossings.
- Southwark Cyclists strongly supports these changes and welcomes Southwark council providing more protected cycle infrastructure and improved walking conditions in an outer part of the borough.
- We suggest that bus stop bypasses should be incorporated into these plans which will improve safety and bus journey times.
- We would like more cycle parking to be added near Wood House Pub and Sydenham Hill Wood.
This scheme is near the border with Lewisham so we hope that Southwark Council works with Lewisham Council in the near future to extend this proposal to the junctions on either end.
The deadline is 16 March, 2020.
