It has taken over 20 years, but the Millwall Cycle Path is finally open, and very nice it is!
Path provides an off road route from the Connect 2 Bridge over Rotherhithe New Rd to the existing off road path from Surrey Canal Road to Surrey Quays. It will be part of Quietway 1, so links westwards towards Central London. Eastwards Q1 runs through Deptford to Greenwich. Also connects to another off-road path running across Bridgehouse Meadows that gets you towards the Old Kent Road or New Cross.
Path has been designed and delivered by Sustrans. Surfacing, lighting and landscaping have been carried out to a high standard. Take a look at it if you get a chance and watch out for a Grand Opening at some future date.
