At Southwark Cyclists, we’ve had a successful year, working to get Southwark Council to release an ambitious Streets for People strategy and delivery plan. It’s an exciting time, with the council committing to rolling out Low Traffic Neighbourhoods and making main roads safe for cycling.

But if we are to make these ambitions come true, we need your help! In particular, we are actively looking for more people to help with our communications.

With more communications capacity, we hope to reach more people in Southwark, promote the benefits of active travel, get more members involved in lobbying their local councillors and advocating for change in their communities.

So fancy getting more hands on with websites, social media, newsletters, and any other comms activities you’d like to try? Then get in touch today!

Volunteering with Southwark Cyclists is great fun and really rewarding. Whatever your interest or talent, there’s room to develop and grow here. And you’ll be able to see tangible improvements to your community as a result!

We’re open to offers to volunteer in any capacity.

Particular roles we are looking for support on are

  • Producing and disseminating a regular Southwark Cyclists Newsletter (monthly newsletter preferred but quarterly newsletter okay too)
  • Updating our website
  • Managing our social media channels
  • Discovering and engaging community influencers across Southwark to become active travel champions
  • Organising in person meet ups
