Ride details: Cutty Sark to Lesnes Abbey < https://www.eventbrite.co.uk/e/cutty-sark-to-lesnes-abbey-healthy-cycle-ride-tickets-237138436447 >
10am to approx. 1.30pm. 22 miles, almost entirely off-road, lots of Thames path. Out and back along the Thames path to Woolwich passing the O2 and the Flood Barrier. Outward continue on Thames path to Thamesmead. Detour to climb the Thamesmead Tor (aka the Twirly Tor or Gallions Hill) then bit more Thames path and paths to Lesnes Abbey via Southmere Park. Coffee stop at Lesnes Abbey. The abbey is a ruin, but interesting to explore, info at https://www.lesnesabbeywoods.org/. The return route goes from Southhmere Park to Plumstead on the Ridgeway path, built like the Greenway on top of a sewer, so nice and straight and flat. From Plumstead through the Woolwich Arsenal redevelopments to join the outward route at the river. Report from previous ride at https://southwarkcyclists.org.uk/38-riders-a-healthy-ride-record/. Route at https://bit.ly/2GqXzUQ .
