Q1 road markings have started to appear and also a smart direction sign in Trinity Square (see photo). The rather dashing cyclist logo is nice. The purple background is, we are informed, the Quietway colour which is 
to be – the colour purple! (Not, we think, a reference to Alice Walker’s Pulitzer-prize winning novel). Probably purple because blue (Superhighways) and green (all sorts of stuff) have already been used and red or orange were thought to be rather unquiet. Now we just need some of the crossings improved, the Millwall path finished, and we will have an excellent new Quietway – and this first Quietway runs mostly in Southwark, our Borough.
