The Full Wandle Trail
9am start at London Bridge saw 12 riders ready for the 19 mile challenge of riding the entire Wandle trail. Amanda led off pretty much on time. Ride went well with nice comments on WhatsApp (The Vulnerables) from Simon, ”Great ride along the Wandle Trail today. I don’t think people realised that they were climbing steadily by 70m. The Wandle is one of the fastest flowing rivers in London. Hence all the watermills” and from Shelagh.” Great ride. So many lovely parks on our route alongside the Wandle many of which was first time I have seen.”
Route outline. From London Bridge take Cycleway 10 to Waterloo. Over Westminster Bridge and along the cycle lane on the embankment to and over Chelsea Bridge and into Battersea Park. Pick up the Thames Path to the start of the trail where the River Wandle meets the Thames. Nice stretches include Abbey Water Mill, Morden Hall Park, Carshalton Ponds and Beddington Park.
