Cutty Sark to Lesnes Abbey

NOTE. Please register for rides on Eventbrite so we can limit numbers, link:  https://www.eventbrite.co.uk/e/cutty-sark-to-lesnes-abbey-bike-ride-tickets-1860216951979?aff=oddtdtcreator

Meet at Cutty Sark next to the Foot Tunnel entrance. Start at 10:00am and will continue out and back, returning to Cutty Sark at approximately 13:30pm.  Mike K. leading. Route will follow the Thames Path and then round past the O2. From there will continue along the Thames Path past the Greek-inspired statues in North Greenwich and the Thames Barrier, eventually reaching Galleon’s Reach.  Galleon’s Reach holds historical significance as it was the place where the Princess Alice sank, costing 900 live in September of 1878. We will then join the Green Path towards Thamesmead murals and stop for group photos before proceeding on to Lesnes Abbey ruins for a coffee break. We will return by the Ridgeway path to Woolwich before joining the Thames Path again back to Greenwich.

Riders of all ages are welcome on Healthy Rides but under 18s must be accompanied by a responsible adult. Same for “adults at risk”. Always give way to pedestrians and to other cyclists so all path users feel safe.  If you cannot make a ride, please cancel so that someone else can take the place. These rides are part of a regular programme of Saturday rides organised by Southwark Cyclists, more information at https://southwarkcyclists.org.uk/healthy-rides/
