Southwark Cyclists’ volunteer Werner will be holding the speedgun in Long Lane with PCSO Kevin Phillips writing down the numbers. Those doing more than 25mph get rude letters from TfL (who fund Kevin) and if they get caught again the Met start to pursue them. Drivers with bad records come back to try and re-assure Kevin that they are good guys and offer him excuses like “I was going downhill” (on Dog Kennel Hill) and “the wind was pushing me along” (a scooter in Long Lane).
