Dulwich to South Norwood Park

Cool June day saw 13 riders set off from Dulwich Park with Bruce leading one of his (many) favourite rides. Across to Peckham Rye Park where 3 more riders joined. Down to the Waterlink Way (NR21) in Ladywell then off road south via Catford (where another rider joined us) and on to Bell Green. Next a quiet street stretch to Beckenham Place Park and a quick photo stop at the Mansion. Continued to Cator Park, rejoining NR21 briefly, through Kent House Station to reach S Norwod CP at Elmers End. Looked at the well hidden lake, then cycled a clockwise circuit of the park. Vegetation very lush. No trams at south edge of park, but the little cafe at the platground was open and busy. Stopped but no hot drinks and loos still out of use so headed on through Penge to Crystal Palace Park. Excellent Brown and Green Life Cafe had all teperatures of drink and the nearby loos were open, so coffee stop there. Several people departed to go directly home while the rest of us remounted and tackled the climb up through the park. Everyone managed this – rhe hrealthy riders are definitely gettng more fit! Brief photo stop at the sphinx then up to the top of the hill and the splendid ride down to Dulwich.

16 miles and back on time. Very enjoyable. Thanks to John S. for back marking. Route at https://bit.ly/2IWt2NC .
