Parks and Ride
A group of 10 riders set off on a very cold morning to explore the parks and green spaces of Southwark and Lambeth, seeing how many they could count in 2 hours. The total was at least 37 – see list below.
As well as the iconic parks like Kennington, Clapham Common, Brockwell (great views!), Belair, Dulwich and Peckham Rye, there were lots of hidden gems and points of interest. Who’d have thought that we’d find a defunct zoo, a tangerine tree, Van Gigh, a windmill, and a park where 555+ different types of insect have been identified. And all in radius of a couple of miles.
We enjoyed a coffee stop at the cafe in Peckham Rye, near the end, and all got back safely, despite losing a back marker on the way.

Dulwich to Crystal Palace
Amanda led her annual “Winter Warmer” ride on Jan 20th. Great for a cold morning as ascending the hill in Crystal Palace Park certainly gets you warm! 12 riders turned up and Paola joined them at Kent House Cafe where a coffee break was taken. Photos from Amanda. Route map at https://goo.gl/rfUzwn.
