London Bridge to Regents Park
Twelve riders on a sunny, chilly, April morning. Off across London Bridge then worked our way thorugh to Cycleway 6 on Farringdon St. Followed C6 to Regents Squ then continued west along the segregated track route to Tottenham Court Rd. Tottenham Court Rd is much easier now it is back from 1 way to 2-way and the crossing of Euston Rd northbound to Hampstead Rd is safe now that left turns are banned. From Hampsted Rd into Roberts St squaeezing past a road works that has been there for years. Takes us to Chester Gate and on to Regents Park. Progress good so anticlockwise round the Inner Circle to the Regents Bar and Kitchen for a coffee break. Departed Regents Park via the York Gate. Used the pedestrian crossing at Marylebone Rd, then past the front of St Marylebone Church and thorugh Marylebone Gardens ni bright susnshine (see photo). Back to Tottenham Court Rd via the PO Tower, then across and past UCL and south to the British Museum. Big queue there to get in the back entrance, probably delayed due to bag checks. Continued south passing the Covent Garden Opera house and the Kings Chapel in Savoy St and joining Cycleway 3 on the Embankment. At the Cycleway crossover approaching Blackfriars two riders collided while turning and one ended up on the floor. Forunately only a few bruises but did highight the need for care when riding in a group. Returned to London Bridge via the Monument. Lovely sunny ride – traffic was light, althogh lots of walkers. Thanks to Jane and Mike for backmarking. Route map at https://www.google.com/maps/d/u/0/edit?mid=14sFsp9B7PPhAciiYb84Shk24cpNI7rE&usp=sharing
