Last ride of the year, led by Bruce. Fifteen riders in Peckham Square to find out where we were headed as no route was given in the posts about the ride. The decision was to do a version of one of our regular rides to the South Bank. Headed off down the canal path then on remarkably quiet steets reached the Thames at Butler’s Wharf, close to Tower Bridge (see photo). Headed west through Borough Market (not too busy yet) and past Tate Modern. Back Thames-side at Bernie Spain Gardens. Again not too busy so cycled carefully to the National theatre where we took a coffee break. Return was via Cornwall Rd to the Old Vic then continue on Cycleway 10 to Trinity Square before turning south on quiet strets to Elephant Park. Picked up Cycleway 17 back to Burgess Park and then on to Peckham Square pretty much on time around 12.30. Nice relaxing ride for the last outing of 2024. Thanks to John S, for backmarking.
