Healthy Ride, May 22nd, 2021
Approximate repeat of May 8th ride (5 Views), led again by Jamie. Here is his report.
A good turnout of 10 riders yesterday who braved the south face of Morden Hill without oxygen reaching the summit at Point Hill where the views were thankfully crystal clear this time. We suffered one semi-critical mechanical breakdown and another severe case of squeaking brakes both of which received surgery by a team effort with assorted tools. Having emphasised the importance of riders routinely checking their bikes I was somewhat embarrassed after the ride to discover that half of my own drive gear was about to fall off due to very lose rear wheel nuts.
Thanks to Simon’s superb backstop efforts the ride spacing was much tighter this time thus we were able to cover our 9 viewpoints with ease and arrive back at the start at a reasonable time.
Looks like the number of viewpoints is increasing rapidly, amazing!
