Healthy Ride 11th Dec 2021
Report from Ride Leader (Juliet). The sun shone for us as we set off from London Bridge on the ride to the Olympic Park on Saturday 11th December. It was well attended with 15 riders and jingle bells all the way from Jamie. The route was particularly attractive being 95% on paths and cycle ways away from traffic and alongside the ever fascinating canals. Having two coffee breaks was a first; one overlooking the Aquatics Centre accompanied by chocolate flapjacks and the other at the Yurt Cafe https://yurtcafe.london/.
Additional comments from Bruce (Rides Coordinator) who also acted as back marker for this ride. First ride led by Juliet. Went really well and was much enjoyed by riders. The Yurt Café is a real find – will call there again. Impressed by the standard of cycling on this ride. Riding towpaths requires a lot of concentration. The Limehouse Link was a particular challenge. Lots of puddles from overnight rain made this narrow path even more of a challenge than usual. And the flapjack – yummy!
