Believe it or not, Rotherhithe Street is claimed, at 1.5 miles, to be the longest street in London (eg. see https://www.atlasobscura.com/places/rotherhithe-street and https://southwarknews.co.uk/news/the-fascinating-history-of-rotherhithe-street-londons-longest-road/). It is also an old street and passes several interesting places including the Mayflower Pub, the Brunel Museum and tunnel, the Bascule Bridge, and Surrey Docks Farm.
Start time 10am, Simon S. leading. Start/finish Peckham Square (Peckham library, Peckham Pulse Leisure Centre, SE15 5RY). Duration 2.5 hours. Route to and from Rotherhithe will be quiet streets or paths. Outward route wandering through Camberwell and Walworth to Cycleway 4. Return via Southwark Park where there will be a coffee stop. We did this ride last year, report at https://southwarkcyclists.org.uk/healthy-rides/healthy-ride-reports-2023/ride-reports-april-29th-2023/. Riders of all ages are welcome on Healthy Rides but under 18s must be accompanied by a responsible adult. Same for “adults at risk”. This ride is part of a regular programme of Saturday rides, more information at https://southwarkcyclists.org.uk/healthy-rides/.
