Cemeteries can provide some easy cycling. Nice paths, few walkers and their own characteristic feel. Our area is rather well-endowed with cemeteries and this ride will cross 4 of them, including Nunhead Cemetery, one of London’s “Magnificent Seven” Victorian cemeteries. Meet 10am at The Round Café In the middle of Peckham Rye Park. Aim to be back there around 12 noon. Short 8 mile circuit with a few small fills. Start across to Nunhead Cemetery, then past Brockley Station and up to Hilly fields. Briefly admire the view than down to Brockley and Ladywell Cemeteries. Next Camberwell New Cemetery followed by Camberwell Old Cemetery. That’s it for cemeteries. On to he Horniman Museum for a coffee break. Final stretch back to Peckham Rye Park with a diversion to Dawsons Heights (great views) if we have time. Bruce leading. Riders of all ages are welcome on Healthy Rides but under 18s must be accompanied by a responsible adult. Same for “adults at risk”. Always give way to pedestrians and to other cyclists so all path users feel safe. If you cannot make a ride, please cancel so that someone else can take the place. These rides are part of a regular programme of Saturday rides, more information at https://southwarkcyclists.org.uk/healthy-rides/.
