I know he looks a bit mad but he’s very good with bikes. Assuming Peckham Arch is still sheltering all-comers, Dr Bike will be under the Arch indexing gears, pumping up tyres, tightening brakes and giving wise advice on filthy chains (“clean it” would be a printable precis)
Nothing costs anything. The wise advice is naturally free. One professional mechanic and two first-class amateurs. Maps, chat, cycling gossip. I’m afraid there is sometimes a queue but they clear it quickly.
There must be more to it than that. Er, no there isn’t. We don’t make a profit. You don’t have to join anything, sign anything or do anything more than let the goodwill roll over you. Wave as you go by.
