The dark adds a little romance to Dr Bike as the night’s draw in. It gets cold and wet too so the workers may be huddled together under the Arch to keep warm. As we all know the best way to keep warm is to keep active so keep them working. The good Doctor and his attendant bike nurses will fettle your bike. They index gears, tighten brakes, pump up your tyres and warn you to clean your chain. Their bike health care assistants have maps, info, and lots of local cycling-related gossip.

All this for your bike. It’s free. All bikes are welcome. We are all part of the London Cycling Campaign which campaigns to make London safer for cyclists (what could be better?). Most of us are members but you don’t have to be. Most of live in Southwark but you don’t have to. As at all the best parties, there are no rules, just wander up.
