Southwark Cyclist Werner will be holding the speedgun on Salter Road. He likes to bag lots of speeders and usually does. At the moment he’s the CSW top scorer with five pages of wrong-doers car numbers and top speeds in the 40s.
You can join in. To book a session text PCSO Kevin Phillips on kevin.j.phillips@met.police.uk and he will sort you out with a time and place. It’s fun. The response from pedestrians is very warm and enthusiastic — criticism is usually limited to “you ought to go down there, the speeds are even worse”. Drivers are a bit more luke-warm but subdued. After all, one of you is a policeman in full uniform.
