A Southwark Cyclist volunteer will be helping the police with their enquiries in Long Lane. Specifically their enquiries into who’s driving too fast and not spotting the guys in yellow fluorescent holding a speed gun. Answer: a surprisingly large number. The volunteer holds the gun, clocks the speeds and shouts them out. PCSO Kevin Phillips knows the car makes and takes their number plates. Success. It’s remarkable fun. To join in, email Kevin at Kevin.j.Phillips@met.police.uk and he will add you to his little list. You can suggest likely spots and Kevin will check them out. The suggested schedule includes weekends. It’s fun.
