Meet 10am in Deal Porter Square (next to Canada Water Library and opposite Canada Water Station. From Canada Water we ride through Russia Dock Woodlands, across South Dock, then alongside the river to Greenwich Park. At St Mary’s Gate to the park (south end of King William Walk) at the bottom of the hill we can collect any riders who prefer to meet there at 10.30. Up the hill in our own time, visit the Wolfe statue, observe the Observatory and take in the view of the Queens House and beyond. Out of the park to The Point, again with a view of London. A circuit of the Heath and return to the park where we can take coffee. There are deer behind the cafe, but we’re yet to see any, this time may be lucky! Depending on time will return to Canada Water along the river route or on the Cycleway (C4). Simon K. leading.
Riders of all ages are welcome on Healthy Rides but under 18s must be accompanied by a responsible adult. Same for “adults at risk”. Always give way to pedestrians and to other cyclists so all path users feel safe. If you cannot make a ride, please cancel so that someone else can take the place. Remember things can, and do, happen on bike rides and we sometimes get delayed. It is therefore advised not to schedule anything to immediately follow the expected end time. This ride is part of a regular programme of Saturday rides, more information at https://southwarkcyclists.org.uk/healthy-rides/.
