A Ride to Celebrate 200 years of University Education in London

NOTE. You  must register on Eventbrite so we can limit numbers, link: https://www.eventbrite.co.uk/e/a-ride-to-celebrate-200-years-of-university-education-in-london-tickets-1983555748640?aff=oddtdtcreator

In February 1826 University College London (UCL) was founded. This was rapidly followed by Kings College and later the merger in 1907 of several Victorian colleges formed  Imperial College. This ride will visit each of the main campuses and maybe learn a little of their histories and rivalries on the way.  Meet 9.30 am at the Southwark Gateway Needle, south side of London Bridge. Ride across the City to UCL in Bloomsbury. Next visit Kings on the Aldwych and then ride across London via Hyde Park to Imperial in South Kensington.  Return to London Bridge, crossing the river on Vauxhall Bridge. 24km (15 mile) loop. Plan to be back at London Bridge for 1.30 pm giving time for stops at each campus and a coffee stop. Bruce leading. General Info. Riders of all ages are welcome on Healthy Rides but under 18s must be accompanied by a responsible adult.  Same for “adults at risk”. Always give way to pedestrians and to other cyclists so all path users feel safe. If you cannot make a ride, please cancel so that someone else can take the place. This ride is part of a regular programme of Saturday rides, more information at https://southwarkcyclists.org.uk/healthy-rides/.
