The much-heralded 20mph for all City of London roads will come into effect on July 20th (details, more information). Unfortunately some roads in the city are TfL controlled. But some of these will also become 20mph – including London and Blackfriars Bridges, and their northern approaches (Holborn Viaduct to Blackfriars; Liverpool St Station to London). Some TfL roads remain 20 mph – for example Upper Thames Street.
This is real progress in making London a more cycle-friendly city. Now we need Southwark Council’s plans for a borough wide 20 mph to be fully implemented.
