Canada Water to Battersea Park and Power Station
A favourite ride on a route refined by Philippa over several years. Good turnout of 14 cyclists despite the forecast of rain later. Full report and more photos (and a video) on the HR Facebook Group, https://www.facebook.com/groups/553896211918871.
Summary of report from Ride Leader Philippa. Enjoyable Healthy Ride this morning with 14 of us setting off from Canada Water using former Q14. Tower Bridge kindly opened for us as we arrived at City Hall for a photo. We watched a Thames barge come through, then carried on to Battersea being mindful of rain warnings. Arrived in good time at Battersea Park so opted to do a loop of the park. That gave us the opportunity to take a couple of photos – one at the fountains then a passing photo of the Pagoda. We exited the park via the bridge under the bridge to enter the Battersea Power Station plaza and stop at the Black Sheep cafe for our refreshment stop. The rain arrived here to chase us on our way again. At Nine Elms we diverted to view the aerial pool. Not surprised to find no-one using it! Bit more Embankment then Cyclway 10 most of the way back. Fun ride not spoiled by the rain!
