Greenwich to Victoria Park < https://www.eventbrite.co.uk/e/greenwich-to-victoria-park-healthy-cycle-ride-tickets-166408334809 >
Typical easy-paced Southwark Cyclists Healthy Ride. Amanda leading a cross river ride including a trip on the Emirates Airline. Note early 9.30 start. Start location: Greenwich Station. Meet at main entrance on Greenwich High Road, near the Novotel (not DLR station entrance or on platform). OR meet at tunnel exit at Island Gardens at 9.45 (for people happy to carry bikes down/up steps at Greenwich Foot Tunnel, or who can ride directly to Island Gardens). Please indicate on the registration form if you plan to join at Island Gardens. Ride duration 3 to 3.5 hours including refreshment break. To begin we will take the DLR to Mudchute (bring face mask and travel pass or equivalent). Then Thames Path to Limehouse and along the canal towpath to Mile End Park (beautiful at present). Continue on towpath to Victoria Park and do a circuit of the park. Head east to loop through QE Park. Will have a coffee stop at The Beast Barge on entry to QE Park. Return will follow Lee Navigation to Three Mills then the Cody Dock route to Canning Town and on to the west end of the Royal Victoria Dock. Next board the Emirates Airline cable car (surprisingly easy to get a bike on this) to the O2. Finally cut across the Greenwich Peninsula and pick up the Thames path to finish at Cutty Sark.
We will keep everyone as safe as possible by observing all the Covid Regulations. Even with the relaxation of the rules it is still a good idea to routinely keep a 2m social distance, never less than 1m. Particularly important to maintain social distancing from other users on shared paths. Always give way to pedestrians and to other cyclists so all path users can maintain 1-2 m and feel safe. Bring a face mask as will be needed on DLR and cable car and if you want to get refreshments at the café stop). Obviously please do not turn up to this event if you are displaying symptoms of Covid-19.
