A Southwark Cyclist volunteer will be holding the speed gun and shouting out car speeds on Lordship Lane. With him will be PCSO Kevin Phillips writing down car numbers, makes and colours. A succession of drivers, spotting them, will be standing on their brakes. It’s a good way to help them remember what the speed limit is (20mph for those interested). One small step towards putting the motor car in its place. To join in, mail Kevin on Kevin.j.Phillips@[met.police.uk. He’s affable (see pic) to all except speeders.
