Ride 1. Rainham to Upminster
Owen leading, 8 riders. Here is his note about the ride.
“The ride went very well. No issues at all. 7 riders turned up for the ride. All but one rider I had met before and so it was like seeing friends again. The staff at the RSPB visitors centre were very helpful with what birds to look out for. At the Upminster Windmill Open Day we saw an1803 windmill in operation. Also the Morris Dancers were teaching those interested how to do some of their routine moves. We passed by the entrance to Hornchurch FC as supporters were going in to see the match against Torquay. Hornchurch won that match and as a consequence were promoted to the National League. All in all a very good day.”
