Ride 1. Butterfly Cycle Ride in Southwark and Lambeth

Seven riders set off from Peckham with Bruce leading. A dull day, cool, previous rain but we were optmistic. First stop Peckham Rye Park, no butterflies. Next stop Greendale Playing fields, same story, and so it went on, Ruskin Park, Elim Open Space, Myatts Fields and Burgess Park. The first time in several years that we have drawn a comlete blank. We did stop to admire the Camberwell Beauty mosaic in Burgess Park. And it was nice weather for riding – but clealry not for flying if you are an insect. We were officially 1 week late for the Big Butterfly Count. Mayber the butterlfies know it is over and pack up and go home. Route at http://goo.gl/v14knG

Ride 2. London Bridge to Kensington Palace

Ride leader Amanda, 22 riders including leader and marshals.

This ride was full within 24 hours of posting. Amanda leads it every year and it is always much enjoyed.

Comments from WhatsApp from Amanda: “A very happy group. Thanks to David for excellent back-marking and Jamie and Simon for safely and professionally marshalling us on the tricky bits. Glad the Mall was free of traffic (5th year I think) and the group decision to ignore the cycling diversion arrows in Hyde Park – well worth it.”

Remarks from riders: David, “Thanks for a lovely ride today, Amanda”. Sally, “Thanks for a great ride, Amanda”
