SUMMARY:Crystal Palace Loop - Dulwich Healthy Ride
DESCRIPTION:This is a route we have done several times\, most recently in February with snow on the ground in Crystal Palace Park (see photo with ride report at http://healthyrider.weebly.com/healthy-ride-reports-jan-march2019.html).  Should be no risk of snow in early November!  Propose to ride clockwise.  Start across to Peckham Rye Park then over the hill at Nunhead and down to the Waterlink Way at Ladywell Fields\, Follow the off-road Waterlink Way (Nat Route 21) for nearly 2 miles to Lower Sydenham. Continue on quiet streets to Cator Park followed by a loop through Penge to Crystal Palace Park.  Have to check out the dinosaurs\, then up the hill to Crystal Palace Parade.  Steep in places\, but plenty of time to walk stretches if necessary (you will not be the only one doing this!).  Finish with a delightful run downhill back to Dulwich park. \nRoute https://goo.gl/rfUzwn

SUMMARY:free bike maintenance with hands-on tuition
DESCRIPTION:This is a drop-in not a course so what gets taught is pretty random. You bring the problems and the guys teach you how to fix them. This is the place to bring the bike covered in spiders which you found in your Mam’s shed. They also do less long term stuff like “How do I pump up these tyres?” (a question which puzzled me for a long time) and “Why does my chain keep coming off?” (it’s stretched and you need a new one and possibly a new set of cogs and sprockets) \nIt all takes place in the warm inside Camberwell Leisure Centre in Artichoke Place SE5 8TS. The leisure centre is very friendly with nice staff and a cafe. Bliss. \nThe sessions are run by Bruno on behalf of Southwark Cyclists. We are the borough branch of the London Cycling Campaign which campaigns for safer cycling in London. We campaign for safer cycling in Southwark. DESCRIPTION:Our annual trip to ride some of the procession route for the Lord Mayor’s Show.  There is a window after the roads are closed but before the floats and coaches etc get going.  Ride leader Werner is an expert at picking the right moment. DESCRIPTION:This is our AGM. There’s a big changeover of staff ahead so come and welcome the new faces. You will need a card to vote but it doesn’t usually come to that. It’s more like a family party without the in-fighting. We hope to have a speaker to add a bit of interest and there will definitely be pizza and wine at the end. \n\n\n\n \n\n\nIt will all be happening at our not-so-new venue at 41 Grosvenor Park SE5 0NH (see picture above) which is much more respectable than it looks. Coming from Burgess Park\, cross Camberwell New Road and proceed in an westerly direction along Urlwin Street\, under the railway bridges\, left at the end and straight on into the cul-de-sac in front of you. Very respectable. Look carefully\, no 41 is slightly less respectable and belongs to the tenants association. That’s the place. No bike parking. Try the railings. \n \nThe alternative approach is via Addington Square\, across to Bethwin Street\, right into Grosvenor Terrace\, immediately right into Grosvenor Park \n Look for the cul-de-sac on your right at the end. If you are very lost shout loudly and someone will come out and wave their arms about to guide you home. We seem to have located a pub  I am glad to say. Travel hopefully and you will arrive.

Community speedwatch is a joint venture between TfL\, the public and the Met to cut speeds in London. SUMMARY:Trinity Buoy Wharf - Healthy Ride +
DESCRIPTION:One of our favourite places for a coffee break and a nose around.  Michael Faraday was here!  Start/finish at Deal Porter Square\, next to Canada Water Library\, opposite Canada Water Station. Cross river by Greenwich Foot tunnel\, up through the Isle of Dogs and Canary Wharf. Probably loop down to Barrier Park and take in Trinity on the way back.  Return via Tower Bridge. About 16 miles\, so plenty time for easy-paced ride and a break.  Amanda leading.

SUMMARY:London Bridge to Primrose Hill - Healthy Ride +
DESCRIPTION:Start/finish at Southwark Gateway Needle. South East Corner of London Bridge at top of Duke St Hill. Note start point is next to London Bridge Station\, easy to arrive/leave by train. Very nice lifts from platforms to street level. Free loos in the station. \nRoute outwards via Tower Bridge\, Cycleway 3\, CW6\, Euston and Regents Park (coffee stop here). Back via Camden Lock\, Regents Canal towpath\, Kings Cross\, CW6\, Blackfriars Bridge\, NR4. Mapped at https://goo.gl/xzyCP6. and .gpx fiile at http://healthyrider.weebly.com/route-index.html. We did this route last year\, see report and video at https://southwarkcyclists.org.uk/60-healthy-riders-out-on-saturday-29th-sept/  \nFlat route (except for Primrose Hill). Lots to see\, notably views from Primrose Hill and Gasometers (check out the movie in the report from last year) and fountains at Kings Cross.  All types of cyclists welcome on any kind of bike (someone once joined us on a unicycle!).
