SUMMARY:Free bike maintenance with hands-on tuition
DESCRIPTION:Free and everyone welcome. It’s not a course\, it’s a drop-in.. What gets taught depends on what problems you bring in. The guys that do it are well known greats from our summer-time Dr Bikes at Peckham Arch and on Quietway 1. These evening bike-fixing sessions are a joint venture between Southwark Cyclists and Lettsom Tenants & Residents Association and are held in the TRA hall. That’s not a super-easy thing to find so a useful picture of the hall is above. Vestry Road\, up the hill passed the shops and down an alley on your left is the best verbal description I’ve been given. See below for full address. The whole shebang is free\, cheerful and open to anyone. No ID checks. You need to bring a bike to get full benefit. DESCRIPTION:Our guys are back\, keen and raring to fix your bike. They will be under or around Peckham Arch (see pic) fixing bikes for all-comers. This service is free and enthusiastic. The bigger your problem the happier they are. They carry small parts like cables but not big ones like wheels. For bike reconstruction they will do their best but after that you will be referred onto our bike maintenance and tuition service which runs indoors all year round.  Ask for details……………..

This service is free and enthusiastic. The bigger your problem the happier they are. They carry small parts like cables but not big ones like wheels. \nThey do their best but for bike reconstruction (just out of the shed and covered in spiders) you are likely to be referred on to our bike maintenance and tuition service which runs all year round at the Lettsom TRA hall in Camberwell. SUMMARY:Northern Heights.  London Bridge to Alexandra Palace.
DESCRIPTION:Special 21 mile Bank Holiday ride to Alexandra Palace and back\, using a different route each way.  Begin northwards through the City and Islington. At Canonbury make the first of several contacts with the New River. Continue to Clissold Park (2nd New River sighting)\, then Woodberry Wetlands (New River 3) and Finsbury Park (New River 4).  Roughly following the New River has ensured a flat ride to this point.  But that changes as the route travels north.  From Finsbury Park pick up Quietway 10\, crossing the New River another 2 times. At Alexandra Palace Station\, leave Q10 and ascend to the Palace and collect the reward for climbing\, a view down upon London (and lunch at the Boating Lake Café). \nReturn route runs a bit to the west of the outward route.  Initially along a short part of the Parkland Walk to Muswell Hill then round to Archway Rd close to Highgate Station in order to join the longer section of Parkland Walk\, a green path along disused railway to Finsbury Park (info at https://underground-history.co.uk/northernh.php).  Delightful\, nearly 2 miles of off-road path.  Through the SW corner of Finsbury Park then join Q10 going south past the Emirates Stadium\, through Barnsbury and Legal London to join the East-West Superhighway (CS3) at Temple Avenue.  CS3 to Monument and across London Bridge to finish.  Hope to finish around 3pm as we will be going at our usual rather easy pace with plenty of stops at places of interest.  Everyone welcome on any type of bike. \nRoute worked out by Werner who will be leading.  Route track here http://taffimai.w2.org.uk/healthy-rides/NorthernHeights-20190505.html
