SUMMARY:Dr Bike and PCSOs
DESCRIPTION:The good doctor is back again with his enormous bag of tools and his failthful assistants (who use his and bring their own). They will index your gears\, tighten your brakes and give you wise advice on your chain\, tyres and everything else bike-related. Maps\, fighting talk and gossip about cycling in Southwark and beyond also available. \nHe will be under Peckham Arch at the south end of Surrey Canal Path which is the lovely bit of woodland heading down into Peckham. \nPCSOs getting grumpy and expensive about cycling on the pavement at the north end of Rye Lane seem to be there most mornings at the moment. They want people to use the cycle path which goes round the edge instead of going straight on. Always worth keeping an eye open for

SUMMARY:Bike Train to Central London
DESCRIPTION:Come on our famous Bike Train and find\, like previous riders\, that it “changes everything” about getting on your bike to work. Another rider said it’s “very stress-free”.Our route follows the route of the old Surrey Canal of which this mega-park is just a part. This is a canal bridge over the former canal about half way through. \nOur route takes us through two parks\, north along a traffic-calmed backstreet\, onto the pavement-cycling lanes along the New Kent Road\, around the Elephant and Castle bypass and then onto the lovely new TfL segregation all the way to Blackfriars. Arrival time approx 8.45am. On time every time. Fun and free. \nFrom there riders are taken on by individual arrangement and we have taken people to Mayfair\, Kings Cross\, Faringdon and Tower Hill. All easy\, legal and free. Return rides arranged individually. \nWe start at 8am from Nunhead Station and pick up riders from Peckham Rye station (from the bike stands behind McDonalds) at 8.10am. We are joined by riders from Denmark Hill who leave that station at 8.10am (from outside the cafe in Windsor Walk) and join the train in Burgess Park. \nTo book your seat at Denmark Hill text Liz Eden on 07814 515 715 or for Peckham or Nunhead contact me on 07842 640 207 — or don’t book anything at all and just turn up.
