SUMMARY:Bike Train to central London
DESCRIPTION:Happy Bike Trainers\, healthy and free. Come and join us. We leave Nunhead Station at 8am\, pick up at Peckham Rye Station at 8.10 (from the bike stands behind McDonalds) and arrive at Blackfriars at 8.45am. A branch line leaves Denmark Hill station at 8.10 and joins the train in Burgess Park at 8.20am. Everyone welcome. \nFrom Blackfriars we take riders on individually — so far we have taken people on to Kings Cross\, Faringdon\, Mayfair\, Hyde Park and the Tower. Return rides are arranged personally. Unlike the train we don’t leave anyone stranded in London. \nOur route takes us through two parks\, up a traffic-calmed backstreet\, along the pavement cycling lanes on the New Kent Road\, around the Elephant and Castle by-pass and onto the segregated cycle lanes in St George’s Road and Blackfriars Road. All legal and safe. \nTo join us just turn up. If we know you are coming we will wait for you. For more info mail southwark@lcc.org.uk or text me on 07842 640 207.

SUMMARY:Bike Sale -- secondhand\, not stolen
DESCRIPTION:Peddlemywheels are bringing their brilliant bike re-selling service to Bessemer Grange Primary School summer fair\, Dylways SE5 8HP. http://bessemergrangeprimary.co.uk \nThese guys run pop-up bike markets in conjunction with councils and other organisations throughout London. More here: http://www.peddlemywheels.com/public-bike-markets \nSellers can bring their unwanted adult and child bikes along with some photo ID and a mechanic will check the bike over before putting it up for sale. It is completely free to sell your bike on the day. If your bike does not sell on the day don’t worry PMW can take it to their next market and make a PayPal or bank transfer to you once it’s sold (in these cases there is a 25% commission fee). \nBuyers get the assurance that the bike they’re buying has not been stolen and has been checked by a qualified mechanic — often undergoing a full service before selling. \nBoth sides get a good deal and no thieves get rich.

SUMMARY:Bike Train to central London and beyond
DESCRIPTION:The Bike Train led by experienced cyclists takes riders to Blackfriars on a route through two parks\, up a traffic-calmed backstreet\, around the Elephant and Castle by-pass and onto the wonderful new segregated cycle lanes. We set off from Nunhead station at 8am\, joining cyclists at Peckham Rye Station at 8.10am (from the bike stands behind McDonalds) and meeting a branch line from Denmark Hill at 8.20am in Burgess Park. That branch line leaves Denmark Hill at 8.10am. \nWe arrive at the north end of Blackfriars Bridge at 8.45am where riders go their separate ways accompanied (if they wish) by Bike Buddies who have so far taken cyclists on to Hyde Park\, Mayfair\, Kings Cross and Tower Hill. The majority of the route is off-route through parks or segregated — with three feet of raised pavement between riders and the traffic. \nRides back are arranged individually. Everyone is welcome. Unlike the trains\, everyone gets a seat\, no one gets a backpack in their face and there are no cancellations or delays. Arrive on time with a feeling of achievement before 9am. \nTo take part just turn up or text me on 07842 640 207 or mail southwark@lcc.org.uk \n

SUMMARY:Monthly meeting
DESCRIPTION:Our monthly meeting will be at the new Nunhead Green Community Centre — upstairs in Holly. There’s a lift for those who can’t manage stairs. \nThere’s parking for 6 bikes outside the centre and more in a bike shed behind the centre which is dark and unobserved and accessible over the back wall. There’s more parking around the Green and there’s always been enough so far. \nThe approach from Nunhead Lane involves a not very nice\, not very wide blind bend which the traffic takes too fast\, so the advised approach is via Scylla Road. This route needs some railings removed and some drop kerbs but from an absence of traffic point of view\, it is the best.
