DESCRIPTION:Canada Water Library\, 9.30am start\, 1pm finish.  Easy paced ride covering about 18 miles.  Part of a series on 3rd Saturdays each month.  Longer version of regular Healthy Rides.  Suitable for all bikes and all levels of ability.  No unaccompanied children 16 or younger\, please. \nBruce Leading. Train assisted ride. Overground to Haggerston (all zone 2\, £1.50 by Oyster or Contactless\, so bring your card…). (NB Can meet us at Haggerston for 10am). Then via Victoria Park to Olympic Park.  Stop at Velodrome and look in\, maybe have coffee.  Explore Olympic Park then down River Lea towpath and Limehouse Cut to Wapping.  On to Tower Bridge and back along the river to Canada Water. DESCRIPTION:Celebrate Bike Week with Southwark Cyclists! We are providing breakfast for early arrivals on bikes at the Island Cafe on Southwark Bridge Road (at the junction with Union Street) from 7.30 to 9am on Wednesday 18 June. \nDr Bike may (or may not) turn up but willing amateurs will be on hand to check your bike over and offer on the spot help (or directions to the nearest bike shop). \nWe recommend you get there before the croissants run out!

DESCRIPTION:This is the unfun bit (well I think so)though we do our best.  \nWe heard from Tim Warin\, Bike-It schools officer for Southwark\, about the hard work he’s doing to persuade kids to mend bikes\, ride safely\, and generally enjoy their wheels. We got sort-of tough about what sort of Quietways we want to see in Southwark — the clue here is we want good ones\, that don’t abandon us when it gets dangerous. Some poor souls got the job of telling TfL in enormous detail what’s wrong with their plans for the Elephant& Castle roundabout; we agreed we wanted bike hangars that aren’t a gift to bike thieves for the revamped London Bridge Station.  \nMore detail available here for those who like detail:\ndraft mins of mtg SC Mar 12th 2014 \nAmy Aeron-Thomas (who runs RoadPeace and wants the killing to stop) took pity on the full\, long agenda and added her Traffic Justice Update afterwards. It’s short and is here:\nSC Traffic Justice update Mar 2014 \nIt includes a link to TfL “six road safety commitments” — still in beta. They have to think for a long time before committing themselves to anything as radical as that \nAll complaints about these minutes welcome but the catch is you have to come to the next meeting which is: April 9th\, 6.30pm in the usual place (see below for map etc)

DESCRIPTION:Join us for a special monthly meeting\, to talk about local demands for better cycling provision\, based on the London Cycling Campaign’s recent Space for Cycling survey. This identified problem hotspots for cycling in Southwark and the rest of London. Now we need to decide which ones to pick and press candidates in the 2014 local election to address. \nHelp draw up list of demands to lobby those who seek to be councillors when they are at their most vulnerable — standing for election. \nCome and tell us what you want to make you cycle rides round Southwark better.
