Christmas Lights

After last year, swore never to repeat this ride. However, by popular demand… 4.00 pm start. London Bridge, south side, next to Southwark Gateway Needle, Bruce leading, Werner assisting. Hope to be back by 6.30 pm. Ride will be in 3 sections. A steady ride along south side of river then crossing Waterloo Bridge. Next the main event, a complex circuit of Covent Garden area and the West End including the obvious suspects – Oxford, Regents and Bond Streets – plus a few less well-known.  The central streets will be VERY CROWDED with pedestrians and motor traffic including large Tour Buses. Maintaining cohesion in the group may at times be difficult.  As well as bike lights, please also decorate your bike. A festive light on the helmet is a great way to remain visible in a crowd. Make sure your phone is charged up and you must give a phone number on registration. Father Christmas suits are allowed. Final part of the ride will be the short homeward run along the Embankment Cycleway.  Join us if you can. Riders of all ages are welcome on Healthy Rides but under 18s must be accompanied by a responsible adult.  Same for “adults at risk”. Always give way to pedestrians and to other cyclists so all path users feel safe. If you cannot make a ride, please cancel so that someone else can take the place.
