DESCRIPTION:We’ve invited speakers representing British Land to come and talk to us about what’s going on at Canada Water. British Land has spent five years assembling the Canada Water site. \nIt includes Surrey Quays Shopping Centre and Harmsworth Quays\, the former Daily Mail General Trust printing works. Last piece in the jigsaw was its acquisition of Surrey Quays Leisure Park in March this year. The combined sites have potential for around 5.5 million sq ft of office\, retail\, residential\, leisure\, educational and community space. The size of the site makes the re-developer a big player in Southwark and staff have acknowledged “concerns” about CS4. She will tell us about that and also about her current work on the Livesey Exchange bike hub (see picture). There’s a lift for those who can’t manage stairs. \nThere’s parking for 6 bikes outside the centre and more parking around the Green. The approach from Nunhead Lane involves a not very nice\, not very wide blind bend which the traffic takes too fast\, so the advised approach is via Scylla Road.  \nFormal business should not take long.  There will be an opportunity to discuss progress during 2015-16 and plans for 2016-2017.  Come along and find out what we are doing and how you might be able to help.  There will be free wine and pizza after and this is when the best discussions take place!

DESCRIPTION:Our monthly meeting has been moved to the 21st due to too many meetings on the same day. The AGM will be on our normal second Wednesday in the month — October 12th. All welcome to either or both. \nThe meeting starts at 6.30pm and ends promptly at 8.30pm if not before. We don’t waffle around and afterwards we socialise in the Old Nun’s Head. You are welcome to just come to this bit\, it’s the best part. \nThe meeting is upstairs in Holly. There is a lift. There are bike stands outside and scattered around the Green.
