SUMMARY:Exploring Engineering Ride - London Bridge to Abbey Mills
DESCRIPTION:As part of the ICE’s Explore Engineering Weekend\, we have partnered with the Institution of Civil Engineers (ICE) to showcase the legacy of civil engineering greats such as Brunel\, Telford and Bazalgette.  The tour with will start and finish at the Southwark Gateway Needle on the south side of London Bridge and head up the Cycle Superhighway directly to Abbey Mills Pumping station (Bazalgette). The tour will then return via the Rivers Lea and Thames\, passing by:Bow Locks\, Limehouse Basin\, Wapping Hydraulic Power Station\, Wapping Overground station (Brunel’s Thames Tunnel) and St Katherines Dock (designed by Thomas Telford).  It’s free and everyone is welcome. The whole thing will probably take 2-3 hours\, so ending 12-1pm. The likely cycle route can be viewed here . SUMMARY:BH Monopoly Board Ride (postponed)
DESCRIPTION:Still happening but certainly not on Easter Monday  any more \nWhen it happens this ride round London will visit every location on the Monopoly Board.  Werner leading.  Ride will start at a central location (probably Southwark Needle or South Bank\, check back for this and other details).  Route details nearer date.  Will be about 25 miles\, probably take 4-5 hours.  Although brought to you by the Healthy Ride team\, this is much longer than our usual rides\, but pace will be as easy as ever.  Likely to start early – provisionally 9am. Likely to need refreshment during ride\, so there will be stops.  If you think this crazy idea is attractive\, then get it in to your diary.

SUMMARY:Climate Safe Streets Cycle Ride for the Election
DESCRIPTION:Local boroughs decide the layout of almost all roads in London. Councillors talk the talk about active transport\, but do they walk the walk (or cycle the cycle)? \nElections are a time to pressure our local politicians to TAKE ACTION. To improve cycling facilities MUCH MORE so that our roads are safer\, our planet less polluted – and we are all healthier. \nThe London Cycling Campaign are organising a programme of action for Climate Safe Streets (https://lcc.org.uk/campaigns/climate-safe-streets/). As part of this the local groups in Southwark\, Lewisham and Greenwich are having a joint ride on Saturday 23rd April. Will be an easy route and marshals will control the busy bits so families can join in. You do not have to be a member of LCC. SUMMARY:Freecycle (Ride London) 2022 - Led ride
DESCRIPTION:Led ride to get to the annual Freecycle Festival. As well as Peckham Ryde Park start we will also pick up riders at Burgess Park Cafe\, Chumleigh Gardens\, at approx 10.20am. Will reach the event at Queen St Place approx 11am. There wil be a return ride starting from Queen St at 3pm. Bruce leading a fully marshalled ride suitable for families including children.
