SUMMARY:Cutty Sark to the Thames Barrier - Healthy Ride
DESCRIPTION:NOTE – You must book on Eventbrite at https://www.eventbrite.co.uk/e/cutty-sark-to-thames-barrier-southwark-cyclists-healthy-ride-tickets-131781236225 so that we can limit numbers. \nCutty Sark to the Thames Barrier.  10am to 12 noon. Simon leading. Start/finish at Cutty Sark\, next to the foot tunnel\, SE10 9HT.  Easy ride\, almost entirely off road. Out and back by the same route. Previously have not always made it all the way to the barrier but still had a good ride with lots to see. Probable route at https://www.google.com/maps/d/u/0/edit?mid=1d7s95qO5ipI_huGtJF-NmI7Y3tQwQsr3&usp=sharing.  There will be feeder ride starting at 9.30 from Canada Water\, Deal Porter Square. \nIf you cannot make it\, please cancel so that someone else can take the place. Even at the last minute it is worth cancelling. \nWe will keep everyone as safe as possible by observing all the Covid Regulations. We need to split the ride into groups of 6. The groups should not mix during the event. Your “ticket” will indicate which group you are in. Please keep in these groups at the start and throughout the ride. Each group will have a Group Leader whose instructions you should obey. \nIt is important that we maintain a 2m social distance\, never less than 1m. Particularly important to maintain social distancing from other users on shared paths\, i.e. on most of this ride.  Always give way to pedestrians and to other cyclists so all path users can maintain 1-2 m and feel safe.  Riders are instructed to bring face masks in case there is an incident where wearing a mask would be appropriate. \nPlease do not turn up to this event if you are displaying symptoms of Covid-19. The safety of our volunteers and participants is key to us. \nWe may contact you after the ride to ask you about your experiences and will let you know more ways to sign up to information from the London Cycling Campaign

Platform 22 (or platform for 10.33 train if not 22\, NB train final destination is Teddington).  Gets into Richmond at 10:58. Ticket price £5.70. \nApproximately an hours riding along Thames Path to coffee in Putney. Continue for another hour back to Royal Festival Hall. Lots to see\, almost all off road. Thames path surface is variable and will be muddy in places after recent rain.  Road bikes with thin tyres will struggle. So only bikes with wider tyres\, e.g. hybrid or mountain bike. Also mudguards essential. Estimated finish 2pm. \nYou must register: https://www.eventbrite.co.uk/e/richmond-to-south-bank-southwark-cyclists-healthy-ride-tickets-124174305691 \nWe will keep everyone as safe as possible by observing all the Covid Regulations. Most importantly we will be maintaining routinely a 2m social distance\, never less than 1m. Particularly important to maintain social distancing from other users on shared paths.  Always give way to pedestrians and to other cyclists so all path users can maintain 1-2 m and feel safe. Just in case we need them\, good idea to bring a face mask.  Number of riders will be limited to 4.

Particularly important to maintain social distancing from other users of the Thames Path.  Always give way to pedestrians and to other cyclists so all path users can maintain 1-2 m and feel safe. Just in case we need them\, good idea to bring a face mask. Route at https://www.google.com/maps/d/edit?mid=1r7yBBF92GWhd1g_topnqs10qf04lM_qu&usp=sharing \nMore information about our Healthy Rides at https://southwarkcyclists.org.uk/healthy-rides/ \nYou will see that this ride allows 25 riders\, rather than the 6 allowed recently. After discussion with London Cycling Campaign have decided that current Covid regulation do permit up to 30 riders. So this is something of a trial.  Particularly important to maintain social distancing from other users of the Thames Path.  Always give way to pedestrians and to other cyclists so all path users can maintain 1-2 m and feel safe.

SUMMARY:Healthy Rides from Burgess Park and Greenwich
DESCRIPTION:We are doing 2 different rides on Saturday 25th July. As previously you MUST now book using Eventbrite.  Both rides are included as a single event.  Note that this means the header information here and on Eventbrite covers the whole event and is not correct for any individual ride.  The correct information is in the details below. You should choose the ticket for the ride you want. You will find 6 places available for each ride. \nNote because there are 2 rides with different end times and locations within this “Event” your ticket will give the overall timing and the SE5 post code for both rides. The correct timings and locations for each ride are given in the details below. \nThe Link is: https://www.eventbrite.co.uk/e/southwark-healthy-rides-tickets-114166623444 \nImportant. If you are booked but find you cannot make the ride\, CANCEL on Eventbrite.  That way we do not wait around\, and possibly may be able to let an extra person on the ride.  Even at the very last minute it is worth cancelling as some riders keep a close eye on bookings right up to start time. \nRide 1.  Burgess Park to Design Museum and Brompton Cemetery. 10am to 1pm. Jane leading. Start/finish at Park Life Café\, Burgess Park\, Chumleigh Gdns\, off Albany Rd\, SE5 0RJ. Easy 16 mile ride with some nice off road in the parks and lots to see. Outward go through Hyde Park and on to Holland Park. Probably stop at the Design Museum for a short break\, then return via Brompton Cemetery and Battersea Park. Should be back at Burgess Park around one o’clock.  Report of previous ride (Sept 15th 2018 with 33 riders!) at http://healthyrider.weebly.com/healthy-ride-reports-aug-sept-2018.html. Approx route track at http://gb.mapometer.com/cycling/route_4497331.html or attached gpx file\, burgess-park-to-holland-park-design-museum03.gpx \nRide 2. Greenwich to Canada Water via Wapping and Tower Bridge.  10am to 12 noon. Simon leading. This 8 mile ride is making history for the Healthy Rides. First it is not going to finish where it starts. Second it will involve a trip on the DLR.  Meet in front of Greenwich (main) station in Greenwich High Road\, next to Novotel Hotel\, NOT the DLR station where there are stairs. Catch DLR\, platform 3 to Mudchute\, about a 6 minute ride. (Anyone wanting to meet at Mudchute Stn. be there by 10.10). Skirt Mudchute Park to Westferry Road\, on through Wapping to St Katherine’s Dock\, over Tower Bridge to end at Canada Water Library (Deal Porter Square). Mixture of (quiet) main road\, CS3\, cobbles & Thames Path. We are using DLR to cross the river\, as lifts not working in Greenwich foot tunnel. With the selected stations\, no stairs or lifts\, just some ramps. Remember bring FACE COVERING & TRAVEL PASSES FOR DLR. \nUnder 18s must bring a responsible adult with them. \nPart of regular series of Saturday morning rides organised by Southwark Cyclists\, more information at https://southwarkcyclists.org.uk/healthy-rides/.
