DESCRIPTION:Popular enthusiasm for Community Speedwatch is inspiring the Met to join in. Parts of the red routes are now 20 mph and anyone caught over 20mph can receive a fine.  The Met have been out in full force and handed over 100 speeding tickets around the New Kent Road fly over and other locations in the borough\,  where  speeds reached more than 40 mph.  PCSO Kevin Phillips is keen to get his willing volunteers involved. DESCRIPTION:Southwark Cyclist volunteer Bob Eva and PCSO Kevin Phillips will be at the junction of Village Way and Half Moon Lane\, trusty speedgun at the ready. This is a good spot for catching speeders\, I’m told. The community volunteer wields the gun and Kevin writes down the numbers and makes of the speeders. Then he sends the info plus names and addresses to TfL which sends out rude letters. It’s fun and you can join in. The community volunteer holds the speedgun and a PCSO writes down the numbers and makes of offending vehicles. Then he sends the details to TfL who sends owners cross letters. \nIf you think that that doesn’t sound tough enough then the Met agrees. Since seeing proof of speeding provided by the Community Speedwatch teams\, the Met has gone into the same line of business with a team of traffic policement equipped with legal-evidence level speedguns. DESCRIPTION:Southwark Cyclists volunteer Robert Eva will be out with a speedgun hoping not to better the previous top speed registered by CRW of 66mph (see pic). His personal protection officer PCSO Kevin Phillips will be standing beside him writing down the numbers of law-breakers. There are so many they give poor\, old Kevin a sore hand. DESCRIPTION:Our team will be at Herne Hill\, near the junction with Holmdene Avenue\, speed guns at the ready. Those caught in their sights get fierce letters with fierce threats of personal attention from the Met. The record for the most reckless driver of the year was briefly held by a motor bike caught pulling a wheelie uphill at 53mph while over taking a car in Dulwich Wood Park.
