DESCRIPTION:“It was great having a chat along the way and a brilliant way to start the day” — one rider’s assessment of taking the Bike Train to work. The only shame is the job at the end. \nWe start at 8am from Nunhead Station and pick up riders from Peckham Rye station (from the bike stands behind McDonalds) at 8.10am. We are joined by riders from Denmark Hill who leave that station at 8.10am (from outside the cafe in Windsor Walk) and join the train in Burgess Park. \nOur route takes us through two parks\, north along a traffic-calmed backstreet\, onto the pavement-cycling lanes along the New Kent Road\, around the Elephant and Castle bypass and then onto the lovely new TfL segregation all the way to Blackfriars. Arrival time approx 8.45am. \nFrom there riders are taken on by individual arrangement and we have taken people to Mayfair\, Kings Cross\, Faringdon and Tower Hill. All easy\, legal and free. DESCRIPTION:Come on our famous Bike Train and find\, like previous riders\, that it “changes everything” about getting on your bike to work. Another rider said it’s “very stress-free”.Our route follows the route of the old Surrey Canal of which this mega-park is just a part. DESCRIPTION:This is a picture of my back because the Bike Train route is much better looking than I am. We run from central Southwark to Blackfriars and Westminster every Wednesday rush hour morning. Our route is 50% parks and 40% segregation. The remaining 10% is a backstreet.
