Cycle Routes

TfL resources

Local Cycling Guides

Southwark is served by 'designated' cycle routes which go to all the major bridges across the Thames. In fact, no household in Southwark is more than 1.1 km from a cycle route and most are far less.

More details are available in the TfL London Cycle Guides, the set of 14 maps covers the whole of London and 7 and 14 have the best coverage of Southwark.

The maps are free and can be ordered from TfL or picked up in the local bike shops.

Journey Planner

TfL's Online Journey Planner offers cycle-specific options.

Southwark Council

Southwark Council provides an interactive map and it may be possible to see cycle parking.

OpenCycleMap.org

OpenCycleMap.org overlay OpenStreetMap's maps with cycle specific information, e.g. bike shops, cycle parking and cycle routes. It is a community effort, so anybody can fill in the missing bits.

Sharing routes

Bikely is a site where riders share routes. Search is easy, e.g. www.bikely.com/listpaths/srchkey/southwark to find routes tagged with Southwark.

Route planning

bikehike.co.uk combines Google and Ordnance Survey maps to help you plan a route.
