Annual General Meeting, 12th Nov 2014

Message from Andy Cawdell, Co-Ordinator, Southwark Cyclists

It is that time of year again – democracy hits and you get to elect who is going to guide / lead control the biggest local group of LCC –  Southwark Cyclists  – for the next year.

There is an Hon Treasurer who wants to carry on (good on you  Hugh) and a coordinator / chair who will do next year – that’s me. And Sally who as secretary will take the monthly minutes that keep our activists happy in that they can refer back to them re decisions  – plus carry on producing documents such as our response on health and cycling.

And Bruce will continue to carry on pushing healthy rides (hopefully not to often literally!) plus his sterling work on road and junctions design.

But there is lots more to do including keeping an eye locally on what Southwark is doing (organised per community council) e.g. what is going on on Heygate and other such developments?  And keeping track of TfL proposals as they introduce their version of a cycling vision.

Anyone like to organise some social rides – there are opportunities for people to plan and lead them (with support), help coordinate with other boroughs’ rides, or just take part. Oh – and we need someone to administer our shiny new web site –  WordPress skills needed.

All of this does not need to take a lot of time – just a report to the team and an occasional personal appearance at monthly meetings?

Look forward to seeing lots of you on 12th November 2014

Andy Cawdell
